EEG, together with Antwerpse Bouwwerken and Valens, is executing the works for the transformation of Gent-Sint-Pieters station, a project valued at nearly 100 million euros.
The works include restructuring the station, a second phase realization of tracks 1 to 7, and partial development of the ground floor and level -1.
In addition to renovating the tracks and platforms, they will also be equipped with a canopy that will connect seamlessly with the already renovated part of the station. This new roofing structure ensures passenger comfort in all weather conditions. Solar panels on the roof and the integration of heat pumps highlight the project's sustainable nature.
A multi-technical project involving several teams:
- EEG Gullegem: lighting, emergency lighting, electrical panels, power cables, fire detection cabling, network cabling, ...
- EEG Sint-Martens-Latem: renewal of central heating & cooling (2 heat pumps, 2 cooling towers, 2 boilers, air handling units), complete sprinkler system, and smoke extraction.
- Colleagues from Beltherm are responsible for ventilation, subcontracted by EEG Sint-Martens-Latem.
